PIBSI Dispersant & Emulsifier is a ashless succinimide lubricating oil additive with extended thermal stability. It is generally used with alkaline detergents, corrosion and oxidation inhibitors, in gasoline and diesel engine oils. This additive provides excellent low temperature sludge and varnish control in gasoline engines and effective dispersancy for deposit control in both medium-speed and high temperature super-charged diesel engines.

It is also used extensively in the explosive industry for its emulsification properties.

Formulations

in crank case engine oils, in combination with detergent and inhibitor chemicals to improve lubricant dispersancy properties for engines operating under low and high temperature conditions.

First Aid Measures

• Oral : DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If conscious, give 2 glasses of water. Get immediate medical attention.
• Eye : Flush with water at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if eye irritation develops or persists.
• Skin : Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
• Inhalation : Remove exposed person to fresh air if adverse effects are observed.

PIBSA is an ash less, non-fatty, high viscosity surfactant additive.

Pibsa is a polyisobutenyl succinic anhydride (PIBSA) derived from polybutene. It is commonly used as an intermediate in the manufacture of oil soluble dispersants for lubricating oil applications and in the manufacturing of emulsifiers.

Formulations

Pibsa is recommended for use at 3 to 14% wt in base oils.
